The quality of edenly goldPure gold (24 carats) is too soft to make jewellery out of, so it is mixed with other metals to make it stronger.
- 18 carat gold means that in 24g of alloy there is 18g of pure gold, so 75.01% pure gold. It is also known as 750/1000 gold.
- 14 carat gold means that in every 24g of alloy there are 14g of pure gold, that is 58.5% of the gold is pure. It is also called 585/1000 gold.
- 9 carat gold means that in every 24g of alloy, 9g (37.5%) are pure gold. It is also called 374/1000 gold.
18 carat gold therefore contains more of the soft gold than 9 or 14 carat gold.
