How to choose a diamond?

CARAT

Carat measures a diamond's weight. One carat equals 0.2 grams. It is crucial as it largely determines the stone's value. A diamond's price increases exponentially with its carat weight: the higher the carat, the higher the price. For example, a 2-carat diamond weighs four times a 0.5-carat diamond but can cost six to eight times more.

At Edenly, we offer diamonds from small stones of 0.10 to 0.30 carats up to larger stones of 2 carats or more, based on your budget and preferences. Shape and cut also influence the diamond's overall appearance.

Note: A gem's carat should not be confused with a precious metal's carat. In metals, carat measures purity. For example, 18-carat gold contains more pure gold than 9-carat gold.

CUT

Cut is arguably the most important criterion, as it determines a diamond's brilliance. A quality cut maximises light reflection, creating an exceptional sparkle. Edenly only offers diamonds with ?Good? or ?Very Good? cuts, ensuring outstanding brilliance regardless of shape.

COLOR

Natural diamonds come in a range of colours, from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow). The more colourless a diamond, the higher its value. Colourless or near-colourless diamonds exhibit exceptional brilliance.

What to know: Diamonds graded D to F are considered colourless or nearly colourless and are the most valuable. At Edenly, we only offer diamonds rated D to H, ensuring each stone is practically colourless, with remarkable brilliance and vibrant colour.

CLARITY

Clarity is determined by the number, size, and visibility of inclusions or blemishes within a diamond. These imperfections may be natural (formed during crystallisation) or induced by treatments. A high-clarity diamond has few or no inclusions visible to the naked eye.

What to know: Diamonds are graded from F (no inclusions visible to the naked eye) to I3 (inclusions visible to the naked eye). At Edenly, we select only SI1 clarity or higher, meaning inclusions are not visible to the naked eye.
